Skate, Die, Try Again
The concept behind this publication was the shared influence between videogames and skateboarding, from the 1950s till now.

This project was my ultimate typography test. Here is where I show off my understanding of all basic type setting rules. Robert Bringhirst was my best friend duing this process.

I wanted to create a type and design system that merged the two worlds of skateboarding and videogames. I took the bold and heavy graphic style from skate brands and pixel type from video games. Small details would hint back to the theme of the publication. For example, the running head should resemble a health bar from a fighting game.

The book ended up being around 247 pages. You can download the entire book PDF here.
